Ph.D. in Educational Leadership
USF’s Ph.D. in Educational Leadership prepares aspiring scholars and leaders to conduct advanced research and shape the future of educational systems, policy, and organizational leadership. What to expect
The program is highly personalized. Students design an individualized plan of study aligned with their research interests. Early advising is provided by the program coordinator, followed by mentorship from a major professor and dissertation committee. Coursework is grounded in leadership theory, policy analysis, and research methods, culminating in qualifying exams, a dissertation proposal, and a defended dissertation. While not a certification program, students interested in Florida Leadership Certification may complete a modified pathway in consultation with the program coordinator.
