USF’s bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education prepares future teachers to engage middle and high school students as active, informed citizens. The program combines hands-on classroom experience with coursework in history, economics, political science, and related disciplines, leading to Florida teacher certification in grades 6–12.

What to expect
Students in USF’s Bachelor of Science in Social Science Education program can expect a dynamic, hands-on learning experience that blends theory and practice. This 120-credit hour program offers in-person, online, and hybrid courses designed to fit busy schedules. Students participate in real-world classroom experiences, including practicum placements and a full-time teaching internship, while preparing for Florida teacher certification in Social Science (grades 6–12).
