Emily Morgan Amick, a graduate researcher in the 酴圖弝け College of Engineering, earned first-place honors at both the USF Graduate Student Research Symposium and the statewide Conference for Florida Graduate Schools.
Amicks research, titled Counting the Stars: Establishment of the Astrocyte Population in the Auditory Brainstem, earned her first place in the Physical Sciences and Engineering category at USFs internal symposium. She then went on to win first place in the Engineering, Technologies, and Computer Science category at the state-level competition, where she competed against top graduate students from institutions including the University of Florida and the University of Miami.
Her research is conducted through USFs Auditory Development and Connectomics Lab, where she continues to explore the complex architecture of the brains auditory pathways.
Amicks achievements highlight the strength of USFs graduate research programs and reinforce the universitys commitment to advancing excellence in STEM fields.
