Scholarships

Students will find a number of scholarship opportunities at USF and within the School of Information. Below we have provided a number of resources for students in all of our programs to review to obtain scholarships. Please be aware that the School of Information falls under the »Æ¹ÏÊÓÆµ, College of Arts and Sciences.

Library and Information Scholarships Graduate Scholarships

H. W. Wilson Scholarship: This scholarship is for full or part-time graduate students in the Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) preparing to serve in any type of library. 

Blackwell/Perrault Scholarship: The Blackwell/Perrault Scholarship was established to recognize USFSI Professor Emerita Anna Perrault's career and influence in collection development and acquisitions. Professor Anna Perrault received awards from the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services (ALCTS) of the American Library Association (ALA), including the 2000 ALCTS Blackwell’s Scholarship Award and the 1991 ALCTS Best of LRTS Award. This scholarship is for USF MLIS students who are preparing to work in an academic library (especially collection development or acquisitions.

Johnie Key Thomson Scholarship: This scholarship is for degree-seeking Library & Information Science (LIS) students preparing for library careers in youth services (including public and K-12 media). Students in graduate degree and certificate programs are eligible to apply.

Patricia Andrew Cone Endowed Scholarship: This is a scholarship in memory of USF alumna, Patricia Cone, who worked as a school media specialist in Gulfport, Florida. The scholarship is intended for non-traditional students who like Mrs. Cone attend graduate school later in life and have a commitment to serving children and young adults. Applicants can be full or part-time graduate students pursuing a Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS); they must be Florida residents; and they must have attended high school and college in a Florida institution

Wendy Risk Scholarship: This Scholarships supports graduate students (full or part-time) seeking an M.A. in Library and Information Science (LIS) in the USF College of Arts & Sciences. It can be renewed for up to 4 semesters. Preference is given to students from Pinellas County, Florida and/or to returned Peace Corps volunteers. The University will select recipients according to the criteria indicated whenever possible. If the University is unable to identify sufficient recipients that meet the criteria, available earnings and/or gifts may be reinvested in the endowment or used to support recipients who most closely match the criteria identified by the Donor, as determined by the University.

How to Apply:

Submit your application through the AwardSpring system. 

The deadline for all semesters is JUNE 1.

Important: You will be unable to apply for scholarships unless you have been officially admitted to the program and have activated your USF email.
