I received my Ph.D. from Duke University in 2019 working with Prof. Nicolas Cassar. I then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Prof. Bess Ward at Princeton University. I am interested in understanding the biogeochemical cycles of nitrogen, carbon and many other elements, and their connection to Earth’s climate system.

I am interested in collaboration in a wide range of biogeochemical processes and are seeking motivated scientists to join our group! Please contact Weiyi Tang for more information and for queries about undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral research opportunities.

I received a B.S from Eckerd College in 2025 in Marine Science and Mathematics, with a minor in Chemistry. During my time in undergrad, I completed a senior thesis working with stone crab physiology and stochastic modeling with Dr. Philip Gravinese. I am interested in being a cross-disciplinary marine scientist, applying both laboratory techniques and mathematical modeling to predict changes under future climate scenarios. I am excited to pursue a M.S. With Dr. Weiyi Tang starting in the fall of 2025.

I graduated from Rowan University with a B.S. in Environmental Science, where I also worked as an undergraduate research assistant. I'm attending USF beginning in Fall 2025 as a Master's student, with interest in the biogeochemical processes in both coastal and open ocean ecosystems. I aim to learn more about local environmental patterns that can be applied on a global scale to better understand potential climate impacts.
